What is a typical schedule for work with clients?

We receive initial work requests via phone or email. Gathering necessary details, Hawksten provides a quote with a 30% deposit requirement. Upon deposit receipt or PO, we schedule a call or meeting. Hawksten proceeds with work, incorporating client feedback. Upon completion, we issue a final invoice with a 20-day payment notice. First-time clients must pay before receiving final assets.

How do amendment stages work?

Amendment stages involve selecting an option and providing precise feedback. Requesting a completely new option incurs an hourly rate charge. One “set of amends” is a single collated list of feedback. Any work beyond agreed amendments is charged at £60 per hour. Once signed off, we provide project files. Additional work incurs an hourly rate of £50-60. Unused amend stages do not result in invoice refunds.

What if I don’t like the design work provided?

We prioritize open communication and collaboration if you’re not satisfied with the design work. Our process includes offering three design choices and up to three rounds of revisions to refine the design. Constructive feedback is crucial for achieving the desired outcome, so please be specific about any concerns. In rare cases of continued dissatisfaction after the revision stages, additional rounds will be billed hourly at £60 per hour.

Do you offer SEO/Digital Marketing services?

Yes, we offer SEO services in two ways:

  1. For our web design and development services, we provide basic SEO setup including headings, metas, and addressing 404 errors. This includes one-time setup or monthly ongoing updates.
  2. For more comprehensive SEO needs, we partner with a specialist agency. They handle higher requirements and budgets and will engage directly with the client after introduction.

How should I use my files? (PNG, JPG, EPS) (RGB vs CMYK)

For file types:

  • PNG is for web and transparent backgrounds.
  • JPG is for print and is typically 300dpi.
  • EPS is for design software, it’s a vector file that doesn’t pixelate. Regarding color modes:
  • CMYK is for print.
  • RGB is for screens.
  • PANTONE is a specific color used by printers. Note: Colors may differ between modes, so we aim for the closest match possible. For example, a JPG in CMYK may not match a PNG in CMYK.

How do I get a quote?

To get a quote, simply reach out to us via phone or email. We prefer having a quick chat to understand your needs better and provide an accurate quote. You can also leave your phone number and a brief outline of your requirements on our contact page.

Do you work to fixed rates or daily/hourly pricing?

We primarily offer fixed project costs, but can also accommodate hourly rates upon request for flexibility. Hourly rates are available upon inquiry and must be specified at the project’s outset.

What is your website design process?

Our website design process includes:

  1. Designing a few pages for client approval using Invision for feedback.
  2. Developing the website on our testing servers.
  3. Moving the website to your live servers.

Do you offer website maintenance packages?

Yes, we offer website maintenance packages through our support partner agency. These packages ensure your website remains up-to-date and secure, preventing hacks or downtime. Prices start from £28 per month. Our focus is on website redesign, so we partner with specialized agencies for maintenance and security support. They manage backups, updates, security, and monitor for downtime. Additionally, they offer disaster recovery services if needed. This allows us to focus on what we do best: redesigning websites. We typically work with marketing managers/representatives who understand the technical aspects better.
